Hey there!

I want to buy a laptop (asus n550jk-CN395D) and four extra devices:
- an usb powered external hdd (samsung m3 portable 1TB)
- a cooling pad (Cooler Masters' Notepal U2 Plus) - has a usb passthrough
- a keyboard (Razer Blackwidow 2014) - has another usb passthrough
- a mouse (Razer Diamondback)
* - an optional Gamepad i would change with the mouse or keyboard from time to time.

The problem is the laptop has only 3 usb 3.0 ports, one of which has that extra charging feature.

Can you please tell me how can I know which device uses more power, or at least suggest a configuration that would best assure the peripherals would get the power they need in the most appropriate way. I searched the web for peripherals power consumption, but didn't quite got anything, apart from the usb 3.0's max. power delivery of 4.5W.

Thank you in advance for your time!

Solution
well you could just use a USB hub for your keyboard and mouse. (much safer, since the USB HDD needs all the power it can and also the cooling pad.)
