Question 4 DIMM Slots and only 2 Sticks

Good afternoon.

I have an older MSI motherboard with dual channel capabilities. I've only been running 1 4GB stick and just ordered up another.

Is it better to put the new one in the second or third slot?

They are both Corsair 4GB 1333 (cmx4gx3m1a1333c9)
