Not sure you can have too much power. The board will only use what it needs.

Problem is do you have the specs as to what each of the power pins is. If these were the standard 4 pin ports you only see +12volts and gnd.

If you get really lucky the 4+4 cable will work.....be very sure you know it will work not just that it fits. If it needs other voltages you will fry the motherboard. You could the use the trick of shorting the 2 proper pins on the 24 pin cable to turn the power supply on.

I doubt you are going to find a adapter for this exact board. You of course can easily build your own but you need to know exactly what each pin needs.

This board is a proprietary design, of which won't mount into even a standard case and leave all its ports accessible. Is there some reason that you will not consider buying the proprietary power supply that was in the case with it, or a replacement?

no that was going to be my next step, or could i connect the power supply to other motherboard and connect my gpu to this psu just for power

A suggestion I would make would be to consider taking out the CPU/RAM/Drives and 'convert' this over to standard.

The best CPU you could have in this is an 8700 (non X). You can pick up a 300 series motherboard as cheap as $60 for a refurb on Newegg, probably even cheaper with some judicious hunting on the bay or local sales sites used. An inexpensive case and the PSU you (may) already have in hand and you are set and free of that HP proprietary mess.
