I want in the future to put 12GB of RAM but i buy 4GBX2 of RAM and in the web page said that is only 2 channels but in a video said that he has a i7 4790 with 4 slots (In the description: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss0fbPsO7SQ) my question is i can put a 4GBX3 in my PC?

My specs.
MOBO: Gigabyte H97M-D3H (Have 4 slots)
Baslistic sport XT 4GBX2 at 1866Mhz
CPU: i7 4790
GPU: Gtx 960 gigabyte ITX OC

Another question is that if i have RAM of the same model is better because are approved by the company and reduce the posibility to have problems like if you have different models of RAM.

Is my first built and i think in many future upgrades like the GPU that's why i ask this, i search fast in internet but i don't find an answer in the web.

The two slots closest to the CPU are channel A and the far slots (3-4) are channel B. Best to run two sticks in slots 1-3 or 2-4 so you have 1 stick in each channel and matching numerical slots. There are very few modern 3 sticks sets available so you would prob have to try mixing stick which offers no guarantees of even playing, Either go with 8GB total or 16GB total - in 2x4GB or 2x8GB
Always best to buy all the DRAM you want need in a single package.

You have 4 slots and yes it's dual channel ther are two slots for each channel (1 and 2)

For 8 GB total go 2x4GB or for 16GB go 2x8GB - only go all 4 slots if planning to fully populate w/ 32GB
