I want to play battlefield 4 and dayz standalone at medium to high settings. I am coming from play station and xbox but I have dabbled in pc gaming and love how much better and smoother the game runs. I am limited to $400 because it is for my birthday this isn't including an os or peripherals.

CPU AMD Athlon X4 750K 3.4GHz Quad-Core $79.99
Motherboard Asus A55BM-A/USB3 Micro ATX FM2+ $63.62
Memory A-Data XPG V1.0 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 $32.99
Storage Hitachi Ultrastar 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $50.96
Video Card Gigabyte Radeon R7 260X 1GB $124.36
Case Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower $29.99
Power Supply Corsair 430W ATX12V $19.99
Total: $401.90
it can be done but just barely play station and xbox were old tech even when they came out next to pc's but save because in truth that's a low ball amount for a build that your going to have to upgrade pretty soon just to meet the min but really depends on what you wanna play

This is a good build, but if you could fit in about 450$ you could get a better graphics and insure you can run those two games. But in my opinion i don't think dayz will be very playable with that gpu.

+1 that card is definitely weak. The power supply isn't exactly known for quality either. 750k cpu is nearly retired, not to say that it isn't viable still, I would just pick something newer on a fresh build

it might run but its going to be stressed, older games will be smooth tho or i guess you could turn things down through settings but its kind of asking too much try craigslist you might have to drive to go pick it up but its a simpler way of getting a gaming comp you might get lucky and get a decent one

i disagree, if you were to upgrade anything it should be the cpu
