590 sli at 5670x1080p 3d gaming is like gaming with 2 580's at 5670x1080p 2d. 3d cuts the fps in half. and even then quad sli is snot double the performance of 2 way sli.

Exactly. That's why I said it's not a good investment. Scaling=value for money. Spending twice the money for a few extra frames prolly doesn't make much of a sense - to me at least - ymmv

590 sli at 5670x1080p 3d gaming is like gaming with 2 580's at 5670x1080p 2d. 3d cuts the fps in half. and even then quad sli is snot double the performance of 2 way sli. so if you want to max out bf3 playing 3d, 2 590's is not absurd. that is why people are putting 3 580's and skipping on the 2600k and others the blu-ray burner so they can fit in 3 3d screens

This is not a system builder marathon guys. In the real world, someone who is spending 4000 will in all probability spend 2% extra literally for the extra performance/cool factor.

if you want Blue accents ..maybe consider finding an older Lian Li case , with full brushed aluminum ,(or any good Brushed alum case) those LEDs will shine and glimmer around that silvery finish.
also does it HAVE to be 2 monitors , why not 1 nice big screen ?
for PSU ..the coolermaster Silent Pro gold series is decent , modular , has that cool factor etc.
and why is everyone going for the 580's ..why not a couple of 6870 x2's ?

3d surround is three monitors. and i am going to take the 6870 as a typo and you meant 6970. amd cards still dont have as good of 3d nvidia cards

You could also wait for the 2700k that will be coming out in the foreseeable future. But man is 2x 3d monitors necessary? I can't imagine the kinds of headaches you would get after 3+ hours. And do make a "poll" to see what build we all vote on. 😀

well, the op , originally didnt say anything abour 3d surround , just listed 2 resolutions, 3d was added later (my bad), and I think you misread , or i mistyped ..I did not mean 2 -6870s ..I meant 2 -6870x2's , the ones at the Very Top of Toms current charts ..and I was just wondering why no one looked at that as a possible setup

Ok so i talked to the guy and three 3d monitors is out.. he just requires 3 hd monitors all mounted together. LED is preferanle with a tv tuner for sure.
