Question 4070 vs 4070ti - for the same budget.

As the title suggests - choosing between the 4070 or 4070ti with the same budget - I am ultimately asking whether getting a 4070 and getting a better CPU is more practical performance-wise than getting a 4070ti and getting an inferior CPU; which setup would have a better average performance for AAA titles on max settings at 1440p at 144hz. I suppose it depends on whether the game relies more upon CPU than GPU - but I am just looking for an average / overall view.

Nowhere near enough information unfortunately, we need your system specs in order to even start to help.

Edit: You haven't even said if this is a new build or upgrading an existing one.

If those 1440pMax settings are backed by Raytracing or especially especially Pathtracing,the 4070Ti because the bottleneck is mostly on the GPU then and not the CPU.
Overal bottleneck diminishes greatly and what might been a HUGE problem at 1080pLow,now it won't be.
I know because for short time I used Ryzen 5 5500 +RTX3080 12GB(which is around 4070 in strenght)at 1440p.
Granted there was no Pathtracing then in CP2077,but there Psycho RT settings.

So anyways, what CPUs did you have in mind?
