I'm picking up a 4070ti super tomorrow and noticed that on a bottleneck calculator website the bottleneck percentage will be around 28%+ with my Ryzen 9 5950x and even still 20% with a i9 14900k. Is this really true or are the websites not accurate?

yes, all bottleneck calculators ain't accurate.

the calculators use data available from benchmarks, reviews, etc. to power their calculators, and most calculators don't even have such data to begin with, so they spit out fake stuff.

and no, there shouldn't even be any bottlenecks with those CPUs.

Seconding Zinkles those sites are garbage. Enjoy your card.

What resolution/Hz do you play in? When you do get your card up and running test any game and compare fps between highest and lowest details, lowest details will let you know your CPU's fps cap. Game or game engine's aren't all the same so if you test this try different games.

1080p, 240hz tbh I have this pc and the only thing I play is Valorant lol.

Fair enough. What fps do you get with 3060? Not forming an opinion 4070Ti super would be a waste, it shouldn't be but saying that, Valorant isn't particularly demanding. Just curious to know how much you get and if it's anywhere near 240fps. If it isn't try lower details as low as possible to see if fps increases, that'll tell you if your cpu can give more to a faster card.

I get around 250-300 fps avg. My main reasoning for getting the 4070ti super is the thought that I won't have to upgrade anytime soon. I actually bought this 3060 at the graphics card peak. get this....$750 off amazon. It's just paper at the end of the day so no point in me regretting or feeling bad about myself making such a silly decision. I just look back at it and keep it as a reminder.

If you end up playing something else more demanding then yeah, that would make more sense. Anyway your cpu's fps cap isn't something to be worried about, it can push those numbers, it just depends on how resource intensive other games can be and how much of it is devoted to fps in those types of games.

The only reason I waited this long to upgrade is because I see all this "oh the 50 series will be 80x faster than the 40" and that might be true but in the end unless I'm playing the newest games that are coming out it will never really matter

You're not the only one. Im in Aus and back then when i was building racing sim room with two cockpits and not knowing when prices would drop i bought two 3060Ti for $1399 each. Friend of mine payed 3 grand for 3080Ti. About a year and half later prices started falling so it's not so bad, couple weeks wages for bit over year's worth of enjoyment.
