Made 37 with 5.4M Inf. Spent a leisurely half-hour resocketing my whole
powers array, considering it a minor respec since I couldn't combine
anyway. Made some changes. (Went to 1 Acc, 3 Dmg and 2 Recharge on
Knockout Blow; nice. The second recharge only diminishes damage a little
- I think Rage was taking it past the cap anyway - and it comes back for
more almost as fast as the lesser punches. I'm sure the damage/minute
rate is much higher, but don't care to calculate it.)

Still had 2.75M left, even being extravagant and replacing a 38 (green)
recharge I might blow away for a Damage (the above case), and dropping an
SO into my last DO'd power, Brawl. Was back over 3M by the time I quit.

Sheesh.

Oh, ramped to Invincible, too, after finding I could eat purple bosses
with only minimal effort. Two missions into it, it's only a modest jump
from whatever the fourth level is - I may yet run into a multi-purple-
boss room, though.

I was running with an SG mate (or two) and while flying back and
forth, I noticed that they were beating me to different places.

"How many slots in Fly?" I asked each innocently.

"3, 2 fly, 1 end red" or "4, 3 fly amd 1 end red"

I have one, the original, and have a green++ SO Fly in it.

In one battle, I was just plainly kicking but on the 'conn red' to me
bad guys, while a blaster was having to three or 4 shot them ('conn
orange' to him).

"You sure put them down quick." I was told.

"Single slot in fly."

Just went green ++ again at 43 by combining the 45s to 45+ in a
single visit to Ghost. When I make 44, I'll have enough inf to bring
them to 45++ which will hold me till I make 47 and get 50 singles (at
which point they will be white for all of the time it takes me to go
to Ghost and re-stock).

And all of mine are SO, even Prestige Sprint which I only use in
Atlas with all of my other toggles, just to cause lag.

- - - - - - - - - - - -

I also have my 4 costumes, each are unique, and one has a cape and
aura.

So, right now, I'm sitting at about 400K.

Big deal.

As in real life, money is only good if you use it. Otherwise it's
just pretty green papers with pictures on them.

Heh. It's all about balance. After my freespec fixed a couple of bobbles,
I don't think I could change my slotting to be any more effective, for my
alt and play style, at least.

I am ripping through *everything* like a laser through butter - even
those damned Devoured bosses that I could barely take down are no
problem; I pounded a red (38?) last night with hardly a dip in my bars. I
have the slider maxed and while my progress through the slightly tougher
minions is a little slower, I haven't run into a lt or boss or combo that
needed more than a little planning and thinning the herds first.

I have the reputedly-fearsome Envoy of Shadows mission in my list, but as
I'm taking down Behemoth Overlords regularly in the +4-6 range, I ain't
worried. :) It's getting a trifle dull not even having to worry about
running into a purple boss - I just stop, scratch my ass, power up a
little, adjust my hat, and whomp 'em.

Which doesn't account for the two yellow minions that nearly got me -
bars dropped so fast I was sure I'd mistaken a red or purple Vamp boss
for a minion (easy to do, as I've proven more than once). Scooted,
recharged, went back... two fraggin' minions. Bleah.

Worry. Trust me on this, worry.

The Envoy is massively tougher than Behemoth overlords, and that's
before AVs got beefed up even more.

He hits massively hard, and has an auto-hit aura.

Yeah, fugmedead. 20,000 HP and I don't think I even dented his bar before
getting flattened the second time. Yegods. My big mouth must have gotten in
the way. 😛

Welcome to the wonderfull world of AV........

First time I went up against him (solo) I also thought - cool a
behemoth.....didn't even get a chance to see what HP he had before he
reached behind me and handed me my but.

2nd time, on test, different tactics.....same result, only I got to hit him
maybe 4 times.

After holding the mission until I leveled twice....went into it with a
defender friend and her wolf whistle. Long fight, and almost went down
twice, but made it.

One of the other things about him (and Nofestrau later) is the dang self
heals he does....looked better than my recon and IH combined.

It's healing flames and it has a fairly long recharge timer.

It's one of the nastiest things about him (at least that was my opinion
when Shadeling fought him) because as soon as he dropped below 2k hp
he'd do a healing flames and be up around 5k hp again and you had to
wipe that 5k hp off him before healing flames recharged.

I first faced him at 38, he was 39.
I died multiple times trying.
Went back at 39, died many times.
Went back at 40, still couldn't do it.
Halloween event went live and treats netted me a whole bunch of stage 3
damage insps, and that _finally_ let me wail down that 5k hp in time.

All of which made even more annoying by the fact that I think he was
resistant to smashing damage so all my attacks were doing less than
normal anyway.

Simple solution: recruit a couple of friends. Or recruit a couple of
complete strangers off the LFG list. All you need are 2-3 good damage
dealers and a Defender to keep you all topped off.

Note that you face that big palooka three times over the course of the
arc; might as well just get some good damage together and go for it.
Envoy is just one of those guys that you just can't really solo, and
you're not intended to be able to.

Actually I did solo him, all 3 times.

My view at the time was that the mission had been given to ME, not to a
team so it damn well should be finishable by ME alone. Especially since
Statesman had declared his vision was that Scrappers were "boss
killers".
Who is more of a Boss than an AV?

It totally blows the immersion factor when a contact gives a mission to
a soloist that requires a team to complete. After all that contact MUST
KNOW the hero is a soloist not a member of a group.

Yeah, except that since then States has said that not all missions are
supposed to be soloable.

Well, that's why the contact specifically says "bring some friends."

I've had half a dozen recent missions where the contact says "bring an
ally," or "bring some friends." Yes, they were tough, but I soloed them
easily.

The AV missions really should have some indicator that they are NOT
soloable, even if they don't have a specific requirement for a number of
allies.
