I recently installed OS onto my new custom built pc and have noticed that the idle temperature for the CPU in the BIOS startup menu is rises to around 44 degrees, just wondering whether this is normal?
My current build consists of :
Intel it-4590 processor with stock intel cooler
Aerocool predator evil green edition case with 2x 120mm case fans
MSI z97 - gaming 3 motherboard

Solution
44C is not a high temperature by any means. You should check the temperature when the CPU is under load and come back with the results. I would say that 44C is just a bit high for idle load but as long as it does not overheat under load you should not worry. A decent aftermarket cooler will be a big improvement but the stock one is capable of handling a non overclocked CPU.
The stock cooler isn't exactly the best fan out there. And depending on your settings in the BIOS that might be quite normal. Various motherboards have different fan profiles for silence/performance. Also the CPU C-States and others. I recall my motherboard has a setting specifically for setting the CPU clock speed while in the BIOS which is not related to its other settings. I assume to have a more stable environment for things like BIOS updates.

Unless they are extremely high, idle temps aren't really something to care about. What are the maximum temperatures under your expected or full load?

I am yet to put it under any load as i am awaiting my wireless network adapter. But will update tomorrow once i receive it and run a few tests. Or is there any other way to run under load without installing any other software other than BIOS

Just wait until you install your WiFi and test it. You can fully utilize your PC without a problem with those temps.
