Hi all,

I've an MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus motherboard with a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU OC'd @ 4.2GHz using MSI's built-in Game Boost setting.

I've also got Thermaltake TOUGHRAM which should be capable of 4400MHz. Unfortunately, the XMP profile only allows me to get as far as the Windows desktop for two seconds before the system goes into a bootloop which doesn't even get as far as POST. The fastest MSI "Memory Try It!" profile that works for me is 3600MHz with slow timings but I'd really like to get this working as it should.

The RAM & motherboard are compatible according to both of their respective vendors but support are next to useless so can anybody recommend what I can try next? I've not got a lot of experience OCing RAM further than XMP profiles...

Thanks in advance!

Solution
The Ryzen 3000 memory controller can't handle more than up to 3800-3866MT/s in 1:1 MCLK and FCLK setting with 2x8GB if you win the silicon lottery. Most people will only get up to 3733MT/s. 3600 at CL16 is basically "optimal" already on Ryzen 3000 and the only real thing you can do to improve that is tighten timings.
