Hi,
I plan on making video game reviews.
Mainly I plan on recording video game content at 60 fps in Nvidia Shadow play or with Open Broadcaster Software to display it on youtube/my website.

I'm on a tight budget so I have to pick between the two and this will be my rig for the next 3 years (Took out a loan)
So which of the two would you suggest and why.
Also, if 4790k, what kind of Ram would I require? on what voltage or would the voltage matter?

These are the two builds I've had in mind so far

I'm interested more in what I can showcase for the next 3 years.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
The i7 solution gives you way more headroom than the SLI'd 970s. Go get that. 😉 16GB is way more than enough.

OR

You can get the 4690K with the SLI'd GTX 980, Yes. 980s. Decrease the ram to at least 2x4gb channels 1600MHz preferrably the cheapest (I think its Gskills, They make good rams.) CL10 or below. Ram speed matters when you render. Ram capacity matters when you game 😉 1.5V for rams.

I have a friend who got the GTX 980 with a 5820k and he said he doesn't have enough space to SLI the GTX 980.
I'd love to SLI two 980s but I really can't afford it
That's why I cut it down to two possibilities.

I'm not interested in gaming, I'm interested in recording videos of the gameplay with decent 1080p quality.

An SLI'd 970 would really be good but is not really sufficient in todays market. Tech seems to improve faster. If youre only going for gameplays, the i7 solution. A 16gb ram and a 980 would suffice. Plus, the i7's ht and a plenty ram gives you better renderingg performance when editing your records.

Get less rams. 16gb 4x4gb is better. 1600 above. You can go 2x8gb if you want to upgrade. Anyways, yes the 980 would suffice.
