There's also this to back up my point.

The guy is probably just saying that as it is expensive, prone to failing and overall a waste of money compared to the air coolers.

The Hyper 212 Evo or the Cryorig H7 will perform on par for around 1/3 of the price.

The NH-D15 performs much better than the H80i.

Some of their pumps may be really loud and have a lot of vibration.

Something like the Noctua NH-D15 is reported to be extremely silent, along with a few other coolers, by what you're saying, I assume you've got the stock cooler.

The AIO is not 'overkill' it is a 120mm, which will run on par or really similar to some air coolers, which are at a lower price.

To get a reasonable difference, you'd need to get a 240mm AIO at least, and the NH-D15 runs similar to those, hence the hefty price for it. (I believe)

I would recommend for you to get an air cooler to replace that stock fan, it will provide much better cooling capacity.

What case do you have so I can recommend a good fan for you to use. 120mm AIO coolers generally run the same as most coolers such as the 212 Evo etc.

Depending on what you'd like to spend, you could get any of the coolers I recommended above.

The NH-D15 will perform closer to a 240mm AIO than the rest of them, and the Cryorig H7 (or any comparible/similar coolers from Cryorig) will perform close to a 120mm cooler, and the Cooler Master 212 Evo will perform similar too.

Any of the other 2 I recommended will most likely get you 4.5GHz if your chip is one of the decent/lucky ones.

Depending on your silicon lottery luck you may not be able to reach them even with the best of coolers. But the 212 Evo or the Cryorig will fit nicely and perform nicely.

Oh! I really didnt think the difference would be that big... And the H80i does have a higher price than both of them so i guessed it would cool better.

So, 212 evo or NH-D14 it is then! 😀
