4770K temps AGAIN

Andrew Buck

Honorable
Well, they were better for a while. 70 C on load (still high), now hitting those 90s again. I have had issues with not being able to even boot past 4.2 without hitting 1.4 volts, but am perfectly stable at 4.1 at 1.225. Don't get it. Now, under load at 4.1, here is what I get:
Pi0rfdx

Now this makes me very mad for obvious reasons. Playing GTA V with around 30-40% load on CPU, I sit around 55 C. That is absolutely insane. For perspective, this is how my temp should be on the test that sits me at 95 C after 30 seconds: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Corsair/Hydro_Series_H105/6.html
I have talked to others and they are stumped as well. I have reseated, pump's working, line method of thermal paste, dusted, good airflow, just stumped. Please, enlighten me after 10 months of dealing with this. Thank you.

I know you're not going to want to hear this, but get a different cooler. Corsair's liquid coolers suck. I can't exaggerate the number of threads I see here or the number of rigs that get brought to me asking the same question and in almost every case the issue is resolved with a better cooler. Here's just one example, which is a very similar situation to yours, except that he didn't bother to wait ten months. It would clearly be more helpful if you could read the ten or so PMs we sent back and forth as he was trying to resolve the issue of why it wouldn't cool as well as he expected, but in the end going with another cooler was the resolution and I see this all the time. More so with models using the Corsair link, but all their 240mm and smaller coolers are severe underperformers in my opinion:
