Hello, this is my rig:
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/hRnmcf

I will be changing:
RAM - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f32400c10d16gtx
CPU Cooler - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-cpu-cooler-h100i
CPU - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i74790k

I have a question about the CPU,
Is there any difference between the https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i74790k and https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i74770k? (Besides from the Clock Speed of course. Is it worth just getting the 3.5Ghz and OC it myself?)

Thanks :)

I would not recommend the faster ram. It will do next to nothing for you. It only helps when putting out more than 80 or so frames per second.

The 4770K has an inferior head spreader in the package while the 4790K has a better head spreader. I would recommend the 4790K. It will cool better and overclock better.

Yes, tell us what your requirements are. What is the problem with your present setup?

I was wondering if it would be worth while upgrading just for some more speed. So really I just need some more RAM of the same type if I want to upgrade the RAM now? And the CPU & Cooler would not be beneficial as of yet.

Also when I record there is sometimes lag spikes and when it does happen it happens frequently. (Using Fraps - As I am a scrub)

Thanks for the speedy responses!

More RAM could help with the lag spikes if you are gaming and recording you must be using a lot of RAM.

And you ideally want to just replace all the RAM for the best compatibility but if you go the route of just adding RAM you want to get the same kit you got last time. Same model, speed, timings etc.

Yeah thanks, if I were to swap out the RAM for 16GB what RAM would you guys recommend?
