Hello everybody, for my new build, i'm asking myself if it's worth it to take the 4960x over the 4930k?? Cost is not really an issue, but saving 400 euro/dollar would be very nice of course :)

other components:

I7 4960X/4930K
Asus rampage IV Extreme Black Edition
64GB 2400mhz Corsair dominator platinum RAM
2 x gtx Titan Black in SLI
Corsair 900d
Custom waterloop for CPU and GPU'S
Corsair ax1500i 1500W PSU (when it's released)
4TB WD Black
500GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD
a 2560x1440 monitor (dunno wich one though)

Thanks in advance

The only difference between the two is that the 4960x has an extra 3MB of L3 cache and has a stock clock speed that is 200MHz faster than the 4930k. Not a huge difference, and certainly not worth the price premium unless you can make a large amount of money from improved productivity from the small amount of extra speed the 4960x offers.

since you have water cooling, you can overclock 4930K to 4960X. The only advantage of 4960X is 15Mb cache compared to 12mb of 30K, thats like 512K extra cache per core.

If i were you, i would go with 30K , and ill get 780 Ti in SLI than titan SLI
