Hi guys, I have this fairly old PC which used to be my dads. He's upgraded his and give us this one as a spare for the bedroom, watching films on a night etc. He had some Logitech speakers plugged in to the green audio port in the back of the PC, but I don't have them here so for some reason I can't get sound to come through the TV. On the voume options in the bottom right corner the only playback device is the speakers he had plugged in and Digital Audio (S/PDIF) High Defination Audio Device, but obviously, neither work, there's no sound. I have the HDMI cable plugged into the Graphics card but their should still be sound coming out of the TV speakers? Only thing is, when i try to update the drivers from the Asrock website, no drivers are compatible with windows 7. I have windows 7 64 bit and I've tried the vista 64 bit drivers, but it says there's no drivers supported for windows 7. Can i not install the drivers for this motherboard?

Solution
What make/model video card (GPU) are you using? Are you using it's most recent drivers? Since it provides the HDMI port, it may just need to load the proper drivers for the audio portion to work.
With most graphics cards with a equipped HDMI port, you can use it for audio and video.

Depending on the Gpu type be it ATI or Nvidia Pci-e graphics card.
By downloading the most recent driver for the graphics card in question from either the ATI or Nvidia driver support page.
And installing the driver should give you the option to select HDMI audio output.

Simply set it as the default audio playback device.

In windows 7.

So I've just installed the latest driver for the graphics card. Still no sound. On the playback device Realtek Digital Output when I test the sound, the green bar goes up next to it, as if the sounds are playing, but there's nothing coming out of the tv
