So i'm upgrading my cpu to a Phenom II 955, which is AM3

And since my current motherboard only is AM2 i need to buy a AM3 compatible mobo, which also means that i got to buy new ddr3 ram.

Atm i don't have money for 4gb ddr3 ram since i'm buying the HD5850 1gb and i want to play new games at max, particulary Bad Company 2

Where do you buy your parts?

Right here, prices of DDR2 and DDR3 are virtually the same. DDR3 is just a tad cheaper than DDR2.

lols, here in Denmark, 4gb ddr3 ram costs 1500DK or 300USD

And the ATI 5850 costs 550USD

not a good place to live when buying hardware i guess

I would recommend Getting DDR3, You wont notice much difference while gaming, but once u get 4g you will. And to buy it i recommend Pricewatch.com It has most of the good offers of main shopping sites. Hope this helps.
