4gb of ram used, with no programs open.

I have 16gb of ram, but my pc use 4 with no programs running. I have opened task manager and checked processes from all users, but it only adds up to around 500mb. Are the other 3.5gb being reserved or something?

Play some games and see if the memory usage goes up, if it does, there is nothing wrong with your system.
