As the title says, windows is only showing that I have 4GB of RAM installed when in fact, I have 8GB of RAM installed. I am using 2 Corsair XMS DDR3 RAM units on my motherboard. My motherboard is a Gigabyte F2A88X-D3H. My CPU is an AMD A10-5800K. And my display device or graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750. The RAM units are seated in the 1 and 3 RAM slots on the motherboard. If I only use one of the RAM units, it shows that I have 4GB fully functional as it should, but if I use both RAM units, it only shows 4GB as being installed. CPU-Z detects both of the units and shows that 8GB of RAM are installed as it should. So what's the issue?

I am currently running 64-bit home premium.

"imrazor; This is a long shot, but go to Start>Run and type in MSCONFIG.EXE, then hit Enter. Go to the Boot tab, click on Advanced Options, then see if Maximum Memory is set to 4GB or 4096MB."

Thats not a bad idea. good thinking, its worth a try.

So it seemed the issue fix was just to fiddle with the RAM seating a little more. Thank you all very much for your time. I hope this helps someone in the future.

I'm glad it fixed your problem 😉
