4gb ram + 2gb ram but the laptop detects only the 4gb ram not the 2gb

I just upgraded my hp notebook 14 and added 2gb of ram but when i rebioted my laptop and open task manager itonly detects the 4gb ram. It doesn't detect the 2gb ram

Tried using only the 2GB stick and booting off that? If you can't get that to work, the stick is probably broken. If both are installed, try checking the BIOS to see how much RAM is recognized there.
