4k GAMING BUILD (and questions)

So I've been doing my first gaming PC build and I have some questions about it... I have saved about 3112 dollars (45000 rand where I'm from) and I'm looking at a 980 TI build. My questions are:

is a 750 watt 80+ modular PSU enough?
should I get a 4k monitor and can a 4k monitor run 1440p?
should I rather get a titan x or just save up again and buy another 980 TI in future?
what is a fire wire and do I need it?
can this run most games good settings 4k?
do I need better cooling?

my specs are as follows:

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K Overclocked up to 4.4GHz Six Core CPU
GPU: MSI GTX 980 TI GAMING 6GB 384bit Overclocked Card
MOTHERBOARD: MSI X99A Gaming 7 LGA 2011-V3 DDR4 USB3.1

TOWER: NZXT NOCTIS 450 BLACK Computer Gaming Case
MEMORY: DDR4 16GB 2400MHz Quad Channel High Performance RAM
HARD DRIVES: 256GB SSD Up to 500MB/s+ Speed Solid State Drive and 1TB WD Blue 7200RPM 64MB Cache HDD
MONITOR: Samsung U28D590D 28" 4K 3840x2160 UHD 1ms 60Hz Monitor
SOUND CARD: Integrated 8 Channel HD Audio

1) 750 watt PSU is not plenty for SLI. 850 W should be good, and 900 W even more so, especially if you will overclock.
2) a 4k monitor can run 1440p, but it will look worse than on an native 1440p screen. If you will game at 1440p, get a 1440p monitor. a 980ti for 1440p is sweet, and for 4k one could do, but SLI would be preferable.
3)save up and get a second card. A titan x is 350 bucks more for maybe 5% performance.
4)fire wire is a type of port for data, like a USB, but made by Apple. You do not need it.
5)It shouldif you have SLI, but do not expect every game to perform excellent.
6) You should get the H100i cooler if you overclock.
7) If I were you I would get a 6700K and Z170 motherboard instead. A little cheaper and better single core performace, not to mention less power usage.

I would actually say skip 4k and get a 1440p monitor, you'll just have a more enjoyable experience. You don't need an i7 unless you're going to do video editing, an i5 will perform the same in games as an i7.

The funny thing about 4k, it doesn't look that much better than 1080p on modern games, but on old games, like age of empires 2, it looks nicer because they're designed to be run on a smaller resolutions so when everything gets stretched out so big it actually works out nicely.

but does the z170 also have triple sli support? That was what I looked for in the first place....

Not all z170s do, but if you wanted triple sli you'd need a z170 type board.

SLI usually just isn't worth it in the long run, games have to specifically support it, and many don't at launch, and don't for a few weeks/months after launch anyways.

Oh, so you want triple SLI. The motherboards provided by James support three way SLI, but apparently on Skylake CPUs like the 6700 the motherboard needs to do some tricks that sacrifice some performance to enable three way SLi. So if you want three way SLi, get a 5820k and the x99 motherboard.

But, three way SLI is not that worth it. It does not scale that well as two way SLI, and some games do not support it. Also, 1440p gives better performance than 4k, while still looking very good, so I suggest going for 1440p instead, where two 980tis will be plenty. But if you decide with 4k finally, you should go with three 980tis . I recommend getting two 980tis ver a Tiatn X because for300 dollars mpre or so, you get almost double the performance.

All in all, I recommend getting a 1440 monitor and two 980tis, with a 6700k and a z170. But, if you really want three way SLI and 4k, get three 980tis , a 5820k and that x99 MB.
