I currently have an i5 6500 with a Strix OC gtx 1070 and have a 4k Samsung KS7000 tv hooked up. I can play all games at 4K with the average of high settings except AA set off due to not being needed for higher resolution. I know at 1080p there is likely no bottleneck but what about at 4k.. I play GTA 5.. rise of tomb raider.. Forza apex and battlefront. I have searched for the answer but 4k gaming appears to be mainly gtx 1080 users. My asus card is overclocked to 1950mhz and seems to run at a constant 2100 mhz with 120% power target.. I leave memory speed stock at 8000mhz.
I built this pc last January with Gtx 970 amd 8gb ram so there the only two upgrades been made recently.
My main question is should i stick with mixed high and medium settings at 4k and then upgrade possibly to the possible up comming cannonlake cpu etc or make the jump to kaby lake with either the i5 7600k ot i7 7700k chip?
I must admit the games look amazing but as mamy gamers allways crave more power.
I5 6500
Asus gtx strix ox 1070
16gb trident z ram running at 2133mhz
H170 as rock ac itx motherboard
500w sfx L power supply
500gb samsung 850 evo ssd
