I would personally change the case and keyboard/mouse as there are much better ones but up to you. I can also get better mouse pads. This PC has a faster CPU, liquid cooler, SSD, more storage, better motherboard, far better headphones than the build above. I chose way overkill power supply just in case you want to use multiple GPUs down the line

I7 5820 is really strong for gaming especially since it has 6 cores and a GTX 980 Ti is almost like a GTX 980 2 way sli which is more than enough to give you a 60+ FPS on games at 4k especially with 6 GB VRAM and the 16 GB DDR4 RAM will help you multi task. 500 GB SSD is really good for loading up your system very fast and have a lot of space for applications this is good if you game a lot.

That my friend is not correct AMD opteron 6378

An AMD FX 9*** is a very strong 8 core processor and can whoop a 4 core i7 but I wouldn't recommend it because of AMD FX 9*** use a lot of power I'm talking 220-250 watts so a pc will heat up.

This is literally the funniest things I've read all week. Thanks for the laughs

It's essentially the same thing as an i7 in the sense that they both have 8 threads. Intel also takes the cake in terms of single core performance by a large margin. The AMD chip suffers from instability even at stock clocks, and is very particular about the motherboard chosen. Honestly Intel is the only choice right now for processors if you're building a solid machine from the ground up

Speed doesn't matter relatively, IPC matters. And with Piledriver, I believe Haswell/Broadwell had roughly 40% more IPC. Nevermind Skylake, which might be closer to around 45-50%. You can also overclock an i7 close to 5Ghz. You also get hyperthreading with their i7s and even more threads with their extreme series. Don't get me wrong, I love AMD especially for budget builds, but 3 grand is not a budget build. The only AMD components that MIGHT go into a 3k build would be a graphics card. Specifically for 4k, a Fury/Fury X. Also: I get the feeling that the 9xxx processors are just factory overclocked 8xxx processors given that they use that much power and don't even run on a new architecture. AMD hasn't been able to beat Intel for years.

As for the opteron... Why on gods green earth would you even bother? This is a gaming build. There is no reason to get a 16 core low clocking processor when you can get an 8 core Intel higher clocking processor for essentially the same price in the 5930k. No reason for that. Even better, get the price of your DDR4, kicker Mobo, and a 6700k or a 5820k for the price of that single processor, and get better usage out of it.
