yeah pascal when i say gaming at 4k i mean like not running everything max like turning a bit of stuff down but still making it look good ps recently a friend of mine got a 4k monitor and ran dying light at 4k on a single 980
atm the moment im running 2 1080p monitors i know feels bad man hence the reason why im looking at 4k basically with a asus strix 980ti ill be running triple monitor but will only play certain games at 4k hopefully 60fps and turning some stuff down to be able to run it not sure if my cpu will help being a i7 but
basically im looking at getting the Asus ROG Swift PG27AQ to play and watch videos at 4k i wondering if i could do this on a single asus strix 980ti
It depends on the types of games you will play.
Videos should be no problem. I play civ 4/5 and skyrim with no issue. I get 60fps which is the cap on my monitor.
Fast action shooters may be something else.
My suggestion would be to buy a EVGA GTX980ti.
You will get a free 90 day trade up option it the new nvidia cards will suit you better.
Read the details on the evga web site.
And, perhaps delay the purchase a bit, there is no telling if the rumored June timeframe is correct.
been with evga before for a 780ti went to asus for 980ti but the games i play are like assassins creed dying light far cry the crew the division ect all very intense on the gpu 😛
edit: i went with asus mainly cause i have a red and black build and mostly asus parts
Oh... 😛 Well, I prefer the bright red of MSI, but... Oh well. YMMV.
The only reason why I suggest only 60 FPS or 30 FPS is because the timings would prevent tearing. So, if you lower settings, I guess you can play at 4K fine.
hehe i do like the look of msi but iv became a fan of the rog/strix design for about 2 years now but na yeah all i would be doing is 4k at hopefully 60fps but have some settings turned down
