4k gaming with r9 280x crossfire

Can i play games at ultra with r9 280x crossfired at 1100mhz(core) and 6800mhz(memory)
I am planning to buy a monitor

I have options
1. Full hd 3d 32 inch tv samsung 32h6400
2.4k 28" samsung ud590 monitor
3.1440p monitor from asus (almost the same price as samsung 4k)


What should i do ??

I would ignore the current 4K monitors that are in the $600 price range. It would be wiser to get the 1440p monitor as the 4K monitors right now are all TN panels that run usually at 30Hz (aka 30fps max) at 4K.

Cant do this that buy a 4k monitor and lower down to 1440p and via display port i can get 60hz refresh rate

4k Benchmarks for 7970ghz crossfire. The 280x is a rebranded 7970ghz edition, so the crossfire 7970ghz will be the same as 280x crossfire. Looks like it is indeed possible for most games. http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/asus-radeon-r9-280x-top-review,24.html

Yes, you could do that. But then why would you buy a 4K monitor and not play games on it at 4K? And who would want to play a game at 30fps even on 4K, that isn't on a console?

I just think that the panel technology isn't there yet. Besides a 280X crossfire would barely deliver playable framerates on 4K. Even an R9 295X2 struggles a good bit on 4K and can't hit over 50fps on many titles at decent settings anyway.
