4k monitor options

I'm looking to get a new monitor and have been tediously searching through IPS 4k monitors for a while and I've narrowed it down to the LG 27MU67 and the Acer B276HK

Does anyone know which would better in terms of visuals?

i'm open if anyones got any other suggestions

Both are 27" and the 4k resolution will give you tiny text.
If that is a concern, look at a larger 32-24" unit.
FWIW, I have been very pleased with a Philips bdm4065uc 4k 40".

Yeah I was a bit worried about the text and scaling issues :/ have they been resolved yet?
That Phillips look good tho 40 inch is quite large

No, it's a software scaler, it's horrible. But, people are getting used to it which is why they accept it. Try to stick to 1:1 mapping, so bigger screen if 4k.

I just found out about the Seiki pro monitors. The 32 inch one looks tempting tbh I can get it for £100/$143 cheaper than the phillips.

Worth a try?

Good question.
The PRO versions are needed to run 60hz.

See if you can find some user reviews.

Looking on newegg for other seiki pro sizes, I see some potential issues.

I searched around a bit and found some in depth reviews for the 40 inch, most said panel was good and stand, factory 11000k temp and lack of HDMI 2.0 were bad.

But yeah looking on amazon there seems to be some quality issues

You definitely need a graphics card with displayport 1.2 to get 60hz.
And... you need to change the OSD setting in the monitor from the default dp 1.1 to 1.2 if you want more than 30hz.

I'm covered in the graphics department I've got one spare DP 1.2, and I'm not gonna be doing anything too demanding anyways

27" AH-IPS 3840x2160 displays from all the major panel manufacturers (ASUS, BenQ, Acer, etc.) are solid choices. 32" BenQ BL3201PH has gotten really good reviews.

If you aren't too concerned with response times, input lag, or uniformity take a look at the Microboard B400/Wasabi Mango UHD400 (40" VA $599) or Crossover 434K/Wasabi Mango UHD430 (43" IPS $7-800)

Thanks for the suggestion but considering the cheapest wasabi/microboard I can find is £430(I live in the UK)+£43 shipping+import costs.....

May end up going 27 inch or the Seiki pro 32 as not sure if I can afford the 40 inches at the moment
