4k on 1080p monitor

Are there any benefits in running my games at 4k resolution on 1080p monitor, Or it would look the same as if i choose the resolution 1080p?

By thew way, i have 1080p monitor with gtx 980ti.

It might look ever-so-slightly better if you run them at 2k, but over that no effective improvement.

I don't think you'll even have the option for 4K. Unless you mean using DSR? If that's the case, then running at 4k and downsampling to 1080p should result in a better quality picture with less aliasing (jaggies). But it's up to you to decide whether it's worth the performance hit you'll take running at 4K.

I tryed push 2k and 4k on 1080p monitor. Quality dropped a lot it lost sharpness. You need need powerful gpu for 2k monitor. With out 980ti dont even think about it.
