4k or 1440p@144 hz?

I'm upgrading from my gigabyte 780ti to the gigabyte 980ti, not sure to go for the

Acer XB270HU

which is 1440 @ 144hz

or go straight to 4k which will be 60hz ips with g-sync, haven't decided which screen for 4k to go for though (suggestions welcomed)

Just wondering what you would recommend to buy at the moment

i chose 1440p

4k with one gpu at high game settings is still pushing it too far in my opinion..though thats only my opinion as havent personally tried it

maybe next year with the new pascal cards

144hz anyday. I have both of these and 4k isn't worth it - maybe later when they work more on higher resolution textures. 144hz is just so sweet for gaming.

I would personally go for 4k. It also depends on what you are used to, if you are used to 144hz then get the 144hz 1440 because 60hz is probably not enough.
If u are used to 60fps i really recommend to go for 4k. 4k is truly a diffrent experience in my opinion. 1440 suddendly looked bad since i have my 4k monitor

if you decide to go for 144hz then keep in mind that returning to 60hz is really hard. I used to play on console, so 30fps and it was perfectly fine until i bought my first gaming pc with a 60hz monitor and then it was awfull
