I do not know of a graphics card that has HDMI 2.0 as of yet. Mine does have Mini Displayport 1.2, which can handle 4k @ 60 hz.

Does anyone know if connecting a next-gen HDMI 2.0 4k TV to the dp 1.2 will allow the HDMI 2.0 to run at its full speed for 4k at 60 hz? I've looked around and can't find an answer. Would be a shame to get a 4k television that can't run properly off my beefy graphics card.

yes. bizlink (aka accel) was the first to release a prototype MONTHS ago. but they have pushed back the release of their chip by at least 9 months by now. when they do release it, im sure it will take a few more months for companies to actually utilize it.

on the plus side i found another chip maker who says they have released there chip already, MCDP2850-BB
http://www.megachips.us/products/MCDP28_Products.php

This is the exact reason I sold my R9 290s and went to a 980 Ti. As far as I know the displayport adapter being worked on for hdmi 2.0 hasn't been released yet and nobody knows what the performance will be. It's really sad that AMD overlooked HDMI 2.0 with their new lineup of cards as well.

Just as bad IMO is that we don't have a GPU that supports DP 1.3 yet.

My 295x2 died after 3 months of use. I did get approval for an RMA from Sapphire so it will ship out tomorrow. My spare XFX 290x is holding down the fort until it returns and I hope you're correct on that cable. I'm not too happy with the video quality using my current adapter thats got me stuck @ 30hz.

Gaining momentum here. Another company recently announcing their chip (not adapter, mind you) to convert DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 for 4K @ 60hz. Apparently a bit harder to convert the protocols than one would have thought.

http://www.paradetech.com/2015/08/parade-technologies-introduces-displayport-to-hdmi-2-0a-protocol-converters/

The race is on. Whoever's the first one to market with a functioning adapter will be sitting on a goldmine.

The spec that worries me is "HDMI2.0compliant with max. data rate 6.0 Gbps"

4K @ 60Hz in only 4:2:0 requires 8.91 Gbps

4K @ 60Hz in 4:4:4 which is desired for computer monitor applications such as text requires 17.8 Gbps of the 21.6 Gbps available to DP 1.2.

http://www.crestron.com/downloads/pdf/product_misc/4K_whitepaper.pdf

I could be wrong though because different sources are giving me conflicting information.

For example, http://www.paradetech.com/2015/08/parade-technologies-introduces-displayport-to-hdmi-2-0a-protocol-converters/

states in the second paragraph that:

"Both devices support the maximum HDMI 2.0a data rate of 6Gbit/sec, enabling 4K UHD performance at 60fps and 24 bits-per-pixel color with 4:4:4 color sampling."

interesting. as soon as someone with a 295x2 or other AMD card buys and confirms, i am all over it, i assume getting a mini dp to dp adapter shouldnt interfere with anything since amd cards mostly have mini dp ports and no dp ports:
http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters%C2%AE-DisplayPort-Thunderbolt-Compatible/dp/B00HNF0KF0/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1440537966&sr=1-3&keywords=mini+dp+to+dp

how long ago did you buy it, i am curious how long this site has sold this. the fact you are using with a nvidia card (which has hdmi 2.0 standards already built into the card) makes me a bit skeptical about it working with a AMD card that does not have HDMI 2.0 standards.

just a heads up someone in a avs forum found the same cable at amazon for $11 , says that he too can get 4k 60hz from his older 780ti nvidea card. though, another review notes that it will not do 10bit . since the cable does NOT strictly state hdmi 2.0 it seems like this may be a half way point. as in, wait another month for one that specifically says hdmi 2.0 on the box so you know you can get full 4:4:4 if thats what you want.

for instance, like this one:

I see they have Mini Display or Apple Thunderbolt supporting 4k@60Hz. I did't test it but the displayport is working so I assume this should work for you to :)

i thought i posted this already:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZC8MLY8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2TP89VUC24WIM&coliid=I39LP1VHL65SVC

its a mini dp to hdmi adapter that is not officially hdmi 2.0, but a reviewer stated he got 4k 60hz from his laptop. and its only $11 and ships free with prime.

i told myself if an official 2.0 cable is not released by end of October i will spend the $12 on this un official cable.

Hello
I have bought one of the ALLreli adapter for 16 euros on amazon I'll let you know if it works fine.

Hello,
Don't buy the allreli product for 2160 p 60hz I 've asked the seller and they are not selling the same product that has been reviewed to support 4k@60hz.So if you buy one now it will only make 30hz.Has anyone find the Uptab adapter for cheaper?Because i'm in france and with shipping it worth nearly 100 dollars
Thanks you in advance.

Hello again,
Sorry for multipost but i was wondering if you can set a gpu to make the 3d and all the graphics operation( like my r9 390) and put another gpu and use it just fo displaying the image (like a gtx 950 which have hdmi 2.0).If anyone have ever heard about this please tell me because i don't know how to look on google for this kind of info.
Thanks a lot . have a good day

Has anyone had a chance to test an AMD card with the DP -> HDMI adapter from uptab.com yet (http://www.uptab.com/displayport-to-hdmi-4kat60hz-adapter-cable-gold-plated.html)?

If it can really port 4K @ 60Hz, from DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0, this would be a huge deal for anyone with a high-end Radeon, as I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in getting the most out of their UHDTV! I'd expect a lot more feedback from the community if this was for real, so if anyone has any first-hand experience with this $50 adapter, please let us know if it's the real deal?! =)

I've got a fully loaded 5k iMac and just bought a vizio 4k tv to use as a monitor (43").

Unfortunately, my desk is now littered with high speed hdmi cables, adapters, and shipping packaging, and still no luck with getting 4k @ 60hz output to the TV.

My plan was to create a display adapter chain from my iMac's mini displayport (thunderbolt 2) port to my TV's HDMI 2.0 port. Here's how I did it:

1. Fully loaded 5k iMac (2014 model with AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB)

2. mini DP to DP

3. uptab's active DP to HDMI 2.0 (for active 4k @ 60hz)

4. HDMI 2.0 to HDMI 2.0 Cable

5. Vizio 4k TV (using input 5 for 4k @ 60hz)

The best I can get is 4k @30hz or 1080p @ 120hz.

I've also tried using a highspeed hdmi cable from amazonbasics and a variety of other (lesser) mini DP to HDMI adapters, but they all seem to hit the limit of 4k @ 30hz.

Anybody have any ideas?

Hello,

yes my friend i confirm that the uptab addapter is exactly like the allrelli one because I have bought one on uptab.com.
The owner of uptab was on this forum claiming himself that the product he bought on his own website were working.( loooool) His nickname is : Vladi2nn.
I guess that he fooled all of us !!!

yeah, i never really like the uptab site since i thought it was the same cable being sold for 5x the amount. i guess it makes sense that its out of stock from uptab since the amazon version no longer supports 4k either. uptab might just be a drop shipper that places orders trough amazon for $12 after you pay them $50 - $80.

i dont trust sites that dont tell you their physical address very clearly on their site.

update, i do see them on facebook as being out of Lewis Center Ohio though.

I have been search for months for the same connector, I doubt this will be out anytime soon. In the meantime my 280x is growing old these days and I saw a good deal on jet.com for GTX 970, as we know supports HDMI 2.0. I'm tried of waiting and seems its just a hassle that might not even work out anyways. The deal on jet.com is 325, but first time buyers save $50 bucks and you can opt out for free return and save 7 more.
The card is the ASUS STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 GEFORCE GTX970 4GB GDDR5, looking around for a brand new card in box, its a good deal.

@andmoc

Thank you so much for this mate, I've been looking for ages and Google search directed me to your post. After going through their website, I managed to find this:

DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0: https://www.alternate.co.uk/Club-3D/DISPLAYPORT-TO-HDMI-2-0-3D-Active/html/product/1240145?event=search

miniDisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 as well USB Type C to HDMI 2.0:

https://www.alternate.co.uk/html/search.html?query=Club+3D&page=2&filterManufacturer=Club+3D#listingResult

It's for people in the UK and it'll get delivered by 14/12/2015. I couldn't be any happier man!

Edit: my order
