I just recently bought a brand new PC monitor/TV. It is the Seiki 39" 4k LED TV, and it is great!
Now, the problem lies in my PC. It is:
Intel Core i7 920 @4.0ghz
NVidia GeForce GTX 660 Superclocked
9gb Memory 1066mhz
Asus Rampage II Gene
And, GTX 660 with its 192 bit bus and 2gb of VRAM + 3840x2160, that ain't so hot.
Crysis 3 at Ultra? Good luck. 6 FPS. Too good.
So, I've got the upgrade bug. I would like to add in some high end graphics cards. I've been reading the thread: http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/Frame-Rating-High-End-GPUs-Benchmarked-4K-Resolutions , and I saw that the 7970 in crossfire would do suprisingly well for how low cost it is *around $600*. I'm thinking of getting two 7970's and putting them in my system. Now, I have a few questions:
1. Will my system bottleneck at all?
2. Will it be sufficient to run Crysis 3 at max WITHOUT AA. Emphasize the WITHOUT AA part.
3. Would getting two 680's 4gb models be a better option? It is more costly.
4. What's a good power supply that can handle SLI/CF and the rest of my components for a reasonable price?
Thank you for your responses!
