I need help to buy a complete computer system including monitor and wireless speakers in the price range of $3500 for Windows 8.1 64bit.
I use it for video-editing of my underwater videos recorded with a Sony DSC-RX100 II in 1080p@60Hz and with a GoPro Hero4 Black in 1080p@120Hz, and 4k@30Hz with natural light, underwater-blue filter, without strobe lights. My video editing / processing needs cutting and joining of my video clips, but the biggest challenge will be color corrections for rests of excessive blues from shooting underwater.
As software for the video editing in HD and 4k (3840×2160) I plan to use Adobe CS6 with Premiere Pro and After Effects, and perhaps Sony Vegas Pro 13.
I also need this computer system for everything else: sound, music playing, recording, editing, the usual office work, including large Excel tables of 10-20MB, and internet browsing. I don’t plan to use this computer for gaming.
I added a link to PCPartPicker.com showing my present selection of parts; see my list 'AB Custom Build 2015-03-29' at: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/w2QMgs. (It’s based on Tom’s Hardware Forum thread “$3000 Adobe Video Editing Build” started by Isaiah4110 in December, 2014).
Parts I cut-back for budget, where I want to keep future expandability for editing / processing big video files: increase DDR4 RAM to 64GB, increase SSD capacity to 1TB, and adding a second 27inch 4k IPS-type monitor, with a second graphic card.
I guess, exchanging sometime in future the selected 22nm hex-core processor i7-5930K against a faster and more powerful 14nm octa-core desktop processor is just wishful thinking, since Intel keeps on postponing the release of 14nm processors.
Specific parts where I would like to get advice are:
Wi-Fi / Bluetooth 4.0 card - The MoBo ASRock X99 Extreme4 doesn’t come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, I guess, I need a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card to connect via Wi-Fi to my wireless internet router, and to connect via Bluetooth 4.0 to the wireless speaker UE MegaBoom. Is the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC7260 for Desktop, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 adapter, model # 7260HMWDTX1, PCI-Express v2.0 x1 card a good choice for this?
Wireless Speaker System - For my video sound editing and for home and outdoor entertainment I am not sure what speakers to choose, the ‘Fugoo Style’ wireless Bluetooth 4.0 speaker (perhaps too weak), or the wireless Logitech Ultimate Ears UE-MegaBoom (perhaps too pricey), or something else with a decent sound quality and price?
Computer case - I don’t know what’s better the Corsair Special Edition White Graphite Series 600T, model CC600TWM-WHT mid-tower, or the Nanoxia Deep Silence 3 ATX mid-tower Mfr# NXDS3B considering my expandability plans.
4TB hard disk - What’s better the Western Digital (WD) 4TB, Mfr# WD4001FYYZ, 2nd gen., or the Hitachi Deskstar NAS H3IKNAS40003272SN, Mfr# 0S03664 (also owned by WD)? And what’s the best set up for both of these HDs for automatic data backup / data synchronization: a RAID 1 configuration with or w/o RAID controller card, or a software solution which automatically copies / synchronizes my data from one HD to the other?
Blu-Ray player & burner - What’s the better Blu-Ray / DVD / CD player / writer: the 16x Pioneer Black #BDR-2209, SATA Blu-Ray Burner, or the 16x LG BH16NS40, # BH16NS40?
4k IPS-type monitor - I am torn between the 27 inch BenQ BL2711U with 60Hz HDMI 2.0, 60Hz DP 1.2, 4ms GTG (pre-order at B&H or Amazon), and the 27 inch - Dell Ultra HD P2715Q monitor with 30Hz HDMI 1.4, 60Hz DP 1.2, 6ms GTG. I would like to be able to use the HDMI monitor connection which only makes sense with the HDMI 2.0 at 60Hz. What’s the better video-editing monitor?
I would be happy if some of you can take a look, correct or improve my part selections, or point me to better solutions which can properly, fast and at a reasonable price fulfill this kind of works. Thanks, AB.
