Hello, I was thinking about hooking my TV to my PC as a second monitor but have never done this before and do not know what to expect or the best way to go about it. The monitor I use is a Benq xl2720 which is 1080p with a 144hz refresh rate, and the TV I am going to be connecting is a Samsung MU6300 which is 4k with I assume a 60hz refresh rate. I want to have both connected to the PC at the same time, but switch back and fourth through software. I want to go with this setup for gaming as some games I play I want the 1080p resolution with the higher 144hz refresh rate and low response time, other titles I want to sit back with a controller and use the 4k resolution, lower refresh rate, higher response time etc. I was hoping I could get some feedback on how I would go about setting this up and whatnot (I know to use an HDMI cable), how to switch through software, will I have to adjust resolution + refresh rate with each switch, and what is 4:4:4 etc. Any feedback would be appreciated, it is going to take some rearranging of my room and I wanted to look more into it before I start moving stuff.
