Guys I am buying a laptop for gaming and finally ended up with the Dell inspiron 5547 laptop. It has 8gb RAM , AMD R7 M256 2GB graphics ,1 TB HDD.
So if I go with the 5th gen core i5 processor than the 4th gen i7 precessor, how much it will affect my gaming performance.

Exact models of processors-
1) 5th Generation Intel® Core™ i5-5200U Processor (3M Cache, up to 2.70 GHz)
2) 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4510U processor (4M Cache, up to 3.1 GHz)

I am asking for 5th gen core i5 because that one is like Rs 10,000 (160$) more cheaper.

Also if you know any better gaming laptop with SSD ones in same price range(Rs 60,000) pls suggest me one.

Solution
5th gen Intel CPUs (Broadwell) are just a die shrink of 4th gen Intel CPUs (Haswell). That is the 4th gen design was manufactured at 22nm transistor sizes. 5th gen is almost exactly the same design but manufactured at 14nm size.

They improved the GPU and made some minor hardware tweaks here and there in Broadwell. But otherwise, non-GPU performance should be nearly identical clock for clock to Haswell CPUs. The primary advantage of Broadwell is lower power consumption.

So just compare it as if you were comparing a 2.7 GHz 4th gen i5 to a 3.1 GHz 4th gen i7. Except the 5th gen i5 will get better battery life. I'd go for the i5. No way an extra 1MB of L3 cache, 15% faster clock speed, and worse battery life is worth $360.

they will be close if not identical in gaming Performance, if they are using the same GPU, the difference is only 400mhz for the CPu which doesnt amount to much really, and you also take into consideration its Broadwel Vs haswel

I am confused because-

http://www.snapdeal.com/product/dell-inspiron-5547-laptop-4th/1101521576

This site gives me the 4th gen i7 but when you add a 1TB external then the price reduces. Like see

Only laptop price: Rs 62361
Laptop + 1TB External = Rs 61971

Its like price is reducing and getting a 1TB external almost free :p

So that's why i am confused whether to go for i5 or i7 one.

Finally i think i will go for i7 one.
