I am finding a good 5.1 speakers. I have an Audigy 2 ZS that can do the THX, DTS decoding stuff. Do I really need speakers with the decoding device which also does the same job?
Second, what is the best value 5.1 setup I should get to go with the ZS? My 3 year old Altec Lansing 221 finally died.
Thanks

The best would be a Onkyo reciever and Pinnacle speakers. Preferably with your PC outputing 1280x720p to a 61" Samsung DLP via DVI.

Unfortunately thats my friends system not mine 🙁

I would settle for a $150 Logitech Z-5300e, I like the fact that its THX certfied.

If you can aford it a Klipsch ProMedia ultra 5.1 Personal Audio System for about $340 would do nicely.

i'll agree on the Logitech Z-5300s for value. pretty damn powerful for the money and loads of good reviews, not to mention the THX certification. i might have gotten them, but its way overkill for my desk and cost twice as much as my 5.1 set, the X-530s.
