The problem is when my home theater is on dvd mode, the 5.1 surround sound works on windows sounds test properly but while actually playing game or watching movies the subwoofer doesn't work at all. But when i switch to dvd 5.1 in my home theater the sound test fails like only front left and right sound and in games and movies the subwoofer works but cannot hear commentary and dialogue

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

We're going to need a little more info. Please pass on the make and model of your sound card, your speaker setup and any amp's that you've got tethered in your home audio setup.

Moved thread from Windows 10 section to Home Audio & Theater section.

Built in Realtek card on motherboard. Speaker is 5.1 system. I have three rca cables. fr, fl, cen, sub, sr, sl connected to three ports on the built in sound card. That's it.

Hello, so your RCA cables coming out of the sound card feed into what? PreAmp or Receiver? and the speakers are connected to what?

Or are the speakers connected directly to the sound card outputs - and that's what you refer to as "home theater"?
They are directly connected. It is 5.1 speaker system okay.
