Ok so I just built my first gaming pc and on Tuesday I will have 50-60$ to spend on something for it. I was thinking some sort of peripheral like maybe a mouse. Right now I have the cm storm devestator keyboard and mouse combo so idk if it's worth spending 50-60$ on a mouse. Let me know what you think and leave suggestions on what you think I should get. Also my mouse annoys me because the led stays on when my computer is off so I have to unplug it so that is one reason I was going to get a different mouse

the cm storm is a decent enough mouse. the keyboard well thats not up to much. dome keys and 6 key roll over.
perfectly fine if all your doing is a bit of light gaming.
personally i would just leave off buying a new mouse or keyboard just yet. save another 40 and get a decent mechanical when you have the moeny.
if you really cant wait get a new headset. your parents will thank you for it...

Changing a mouse only because a LED is annoying you is a bit excessive, and while CM Storm products aren't top of the line, they're still nice pieces of hardware for what they cost (got myself a Sirus headset and it's pretty nice, after fiddling a bit with the audio control panel).
EDIT:
I'd say get a good budget headset, as others have promptly suggested, unless your system needs a specific upgrade.

Regarding leds:
Most motherboards have a BIOS setting for that. It's usually found under power management or energy saving settings, sometimes called "EUP". Disable it and everything connected to a USB port won't receive power anymore when the PC is off.
Mind you tho, I said "Most"; I've had a couple of them which didn't allow disabling it for some reason. In such cases, it's mostly the fault of a software application that comes with the hardware (e.g. Gigabyte's SuperCharge utility, A.K.A. "On/Off charge").

If all else fails, you can always cover the mouse with a black, opaque piece of cloth when you're going to bed.
They're not bad peripherals, although there's definetly better; it's a waste to spend 50$ on new stuff when the one you have works and can satisfy your needs.

what are the rest of your system specs? maybe a decent set of headphones or something would be a good idea as an alternative to a mouse.

Maybe buy a cheap USB microphone? Online games require that sometimes.
Here are some microphones for you if you want.
Excelvan® Condenser Sound Recording Microphone :

good option. i would recommend something with an optical sensor with around 3600 dpi max.
you avoid the acceleration issues that come with all laser mice by choosing an optical sensor.

stay clear of razer and cyborg mice. there over priced and mostly buggy desk art rather than usable peripherals.

I'm sorry to randomly butt in and I guess "hijack" this thread, but what is buggy about Cyborg mice? Because I keep hearing brief rumours about stuff like this but never work out or find out what actually is physically wrong with them. Thanks

the sensor in the rat7 suffers jitter. it also has lift off issue where you lift off and the mouse pointer goes down and to the left or right.
then theres the build quality. on a £80 mouse expect perfection or as near to it as you can get.
i didnt find that... bought it the day after xmas. took it back 3 days later for a replacement because every time i hit the left mb the mouse stuttered a few pixels to the right every time i clicked it moved 5 more... this was on a hard mat with no give so it wasnt the weight of my hand shifting moving it.
the next 1 lasted about 4 months and the sensor went nuts after the mouse gave me a static shock. the final replacement lasted 18 months befor the sensor went jittery... not good for the pricetag.
i could have exchanged it for a final replacement under its 2 year warranty. but by that time optical mice had been improved enough so i went for 1 of them...
it really is poor quality control and cyborg and saitek are know for lack of it on pretty much all there products including there top of the range A10 warthog flight stick combo.
