I'm looking to make a PC able to play games like Arma 3, Garry's mod, and Space Engineers. Max budget of maybe $550. Try to stay within boundaries, please.

Solution
Please do not get any of the 5 year old FX cpus.
The G4400 is better, it absolutely demolishes the FX series in singe core performance, so it's better for gaming.
And my build is better, because you have an upgrade path, you can go up to an i7, and just $30 more you can have 16GB ram.
Also this PSU is better, it's on the list of quality PSU's by tom's hardware.
You also have an operating system, if you want to cut the price, but still have an OS, go for a R9 270.
If you have an OS, then the R9 280 will be much better.

EDIT: Also it's DDR4, which you want if you plan to upgrade your pc, in a year or so the prices of DDR3 will be twice as high.
EDIT2: About the i3 build by damric. That build is also fine, the GTX950 is worse than the R9 380(by a lot I think), but the CPU, the i3-6100 is alot better than the G4400, because it has hyper threading, it acts as a quad core. His storage option is fast, but not large, depends on what you want to do, if you don't need the space go with it, if you need the space you need an SSD.
