It seems all of my retailers only carry these crappy Liteon CDROMS(or creative, blah, they're only good for sound devices). I have a 52x CDROM I've been using since December, and my god, to read burnt disks, after alot of effort, eject, reinsert, after some time it does. Now I thought this was the burnt disks, but it does this alot of times to regular installation disks, etc. (not scratched or anything of the sort) This is the second one. Now I have put up with it for so long, because it is my assumption that this is caused by the spin rate of it, higher then 50x does have these issues, and I see it on some clients PCs as well. MY QUESTION: How could CDROM manufacturer's be so irresponsible as to release such unreliable hardware?!? oops, forgot, the ever desirable dollar. Sorry for the post, just crying the blues for letting my good ol reliable 40x samsung go with my old system when I upgraded. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find a 40-48x CDROM new for sale. They just aren't carried anymore(where I look, correct me if I'm wrong, and this is the main reason for the post). BTW, this is the second identical CDROM I have tried, returned the first, because it would barely read the win98se disk to run setup. -shakeshead
