Hi, I need advice. Can't decide which CPU (and mobo + ram) to buy.
Currently I have i7-2600K (amazing CPU) and it still does the job, but I feel that it's time to upgrade as even 100 euro CPU will be 4 times faster than my current one.
Budget for CPU + Mobo + 32GB RAM + CPU Cooler is around 350 euro.

Currently i am looking at 5500 (90 euro), 5600G (115 euro) and 5700x (180 euro).

5700x is roughly 30% faster than 5500, but it costs twice as much.
Is it worth to pay 2x the price for 30% faster CPU? Maybe I am missing something?

Well I am going for the 5700x myself in the next month or 2.

I had a computer failure so I had to buy a pre built system from currys and it came with such a <Mod Edit> CPU. That I need to replace it. Luckily the MOBO that is in it, does support 5000 series Ryzens. So I was asking on here if my mobo supported it before I did buy it :)

But if I was you, I would pay the extra for the 5700x 100%. It is a much better CPU. I looked at all the Ryzens and this 5700x just stood out to me. I did not really wanna pay more than £180 for a CPU. Because I also want to replace the modular PSU my new pc came with the rm550x to a rm750x and the rm750x is another £135. Then I want to buy 2x16gb ddr4 ram too cos my mobo in this is a micro atx 🙁 so only has 2 slots.

But yeah go for the 5700x

the difference is 2 more cores /4 more threads with the 5700 over the 5500. if what you use your pc for does not need those extra 2 cores, then it is a waste of money. the 30% increase is based on those extra 2 cores doing more work than the 6 cores of the 5500 can do.

but if the program you are running only uses 1 core, then both cpu's will be pretty much the same. games won't use all 8 cores of the 5700 and if that is all you are looking at then, the 5500 would likely be good enough for you. it's comes down to budget, if the 5700x will mean you have to skimp elsewhere, then save the money with the 5500. if you have the budget to spare, then the extra 2 cores can def help when multi-tasking. such as a game open, discord and a browser running on a second screen and so on. all that takes extra resources which would make those extra 2 cores nice to have.

all depends on how you use your pc.

The 5500 and 5600G have another important difference compared to the 5700X. They only have half the cache of the 5700X, which hurts them a bit in gaming and other low-core-count tasks.
The 5500 and 5600G also only support PCIe 3.0, while the 5700X supports 4.0. Not sure if that matters to you or not, but figured it's worth mentioning anyway.

Did you consider the 5600 ? It's typically only a few euros more than the 5600G (125-130), but performs almost identically to the 5700X in gaming. And it supports PCIe 4.0 as well, if you want to take advantage of that with a compatible SSD. However, it doesn't have the integrated graphics that the 5600G has.

Performance of 5600 is pretty much the same as 5600X, but 5700X is quite faster cuz has extra cores. Yes, in games performance should be very close, but I will use it for game development.

I can get 5600 for €123, 5600G for €113 and 5600X for €160.

Yeah, it makes sense to pick 5600, as it has 32Mb L3 cache, PCIE Gen4 and even comes with cooler. I don't plan heavy OC (only turn on XMP), so maybe I can even save money on CPU cooler (if temps will not go above 80).

RX 580

Talking about GPU, as I understand SAM can work also with older GPU's (officially not supported), right?
But this boost of performance is only in games, or?

I heard that AMD builds are very sensitive to RAM choice and bad choice can lead to random glitches, crashes and so on. Recommended was G.Skill and Crucial.
I am thinking to buy:
G.Skill RipjawsV DDR4 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz CL19 1.35V XMP 2.0

What you think about this combo?
- Ryzen 5 5600 = 123 euro
- GIGABYTE B550M AORUS ELITE = 92 euro
- G.Skill RipjawsV DDR4 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz CL19 1.35V XMP 2.0 = 74 euro
- Samsung 980 PRO NVMe SSD 1TB = 86 euro
