[SOLVED] 5700xt Strix vs 2070 Super Ventus

Right now I'm in a toss up between choosing two GPUs.

After being terribly disappointed with my Vega 64, I've decided to sell it and swap it out for something... quieter.
So these are my two choices I have
2070 Super Ventus OC

I'm currently running a 3600x on a tuf x570 plus (wifi)

I'm generally team red and I much prefer the aesthetics of the Strix. However in the end I care the most about performance, noise profiles and the cost. I was talked into the 2070 Super by the sales person today but I was assured I could exchange within seven days.
Alas after an afternoon scouring the internet about both cards I could not come to a decision given the price of both cards at the moment. So I came to my favourite computer forums to lurk on as well as post occasionally.

Cost/Value: RX 5700XT

Something else to bring to mind: for awhile now, Nvidia's gpus have had the more power efficient design over AMD.
So on average, the 2070 Super won't pull as much power as the RX 5700XT, so it should the the cooler, and quieter card.

What's your case, by the way?

I'm planning to switch everything into one of the Lian Li 011 dynamics very soon.
Also is the 2070 super really going to be very much quieter with its smaller heat sink and 2 fans?
The guy who helped me in the shop had mentioned that the strix may get louder over time as I use it. Would I be wrong to assume that logic could really apply to any card?

Edit: Also I now see the Strix has a silent mode, think it'd still be louder if it stayed on that?

It's not going to be a significant difference. These are both 200w+ gpus.
To clarify on dual and triple fan gpu models:
-triple fan coolers can provide the same degree of cooling as dual fan at the lower rpm ranges; theoretically being quieter than dual.
-triple fan coolers also cool slightly better than dual... at max rpm... yeah.
-gpus are equipped with over 3000rpm fans, in most cases making them the potentially loudest device in the PC. Whatever fancy-pants blade design a manufacturer may advertise, a fan is only going to be so 'quiet' when it's running over 1500rpm.

The fix aside, wouldn't it make more sense to consider a different RX 5700XT?
Although it does have a 'silent mode', it's kinda counterproductive on a gpu with a beefed up VRM(power delivery), higher core and memory factory overclocks, and a beefy cooler(it's a 3-slot card) to accommodate all that - an overclockers dream...

Thank you for clearing all of this up! You asked a great question, why not consider a different RX 5700XT. Something I should've asked myself, hah! I see I can get the Red Devil as well as the Nitro+ at the same price until the 2nd. I think I may go with the Nitro+ because it seems the looks will fit my build better. The reviews seem to say the two are very similar.
