5770 on codegen 400w

Right now i have 160$, and in my country a HD5770 Vapor-X costs about 160$.

My uncle(hes a PC spec) said that my current rig with the HD5770 will need 390W, but i have 400W

I've got an i5 750 @ 3.5GHZ and two 5770s in crossfire and I'm only using ~330 watts, so 390 watts for one card sounds a bit strange.

A nice 80+ 400W PSU and a 5770 would be all he really needs. To be honest a 400W would be good up to a GTX 560/ HD 6950, actually, depending on the PSU brand.

those cards require more than 400 watts to run properly, the recommand powersupply is over 500watts minimum i beleive, its better to be over than under the recommanded specs

Manufacturers also recommend 650 watts for a 5770 crossfire setup, and as I've said before mine run just fine on my Xigmatek 400W.

Being under the minimum manufacturer's requirements doesn't magically mean your system won't work.

4Gb DDR3 RAM
250Gb SATA3 HDD
Codegen ATX 400W PSU

buy the cheapest 5770 you can, there is not enough performance difference to justify the extra price of the non-reference design cards. you may gain 1/2 a frame per second.

As everyone has said, your PSU will most likely not be able to handle the load of the CPU and GPU at once. You may have to compromise, as much as I know that probably sucks. 390W is about right as a guess, but that PSU isn't really going to give you that under most conditions.

Wattage is a very basic measurement and a general way to gauge PSU's, but it can be misleading, as sometimes these no-name PSU's can only produce that kind of wattage under specific conditions as a maximum output.

The additional information you provided with the picture tells us that your amps are low. For instance, on your 12v rail, you want no less than 25 Amps, for steady, stong power. You have what looks to be 10. Pretty low there. Less than a good 300W should have, in fact.

The cheapest what i can buy in my country is Sapphire Radeon HD5770, 1GB, GDDR5

crowe is correct, you will not see any difference between the two ATI 5770 you listed. get the cheaper one. you can Over Clock the ATI 5770 anyways, it runs very cool.

as for your PSU, its not great. I know the better brand names are very expensive in your market (more so then in north america). your PSU will be OK as a stop gap but look for an OCZ, xigmatek, CWT, etc.,. brands that are not as well know but have decent quality.

this will sound funny, but can u recommend me a good PSU under 50$

I think you should buy the PSU first and don't get the cheapest one you see otherwise there will be no point in purchasing one or two 5770.

But i wanna play newest games. I cant do that on my 8400GS.

RobisssLV, don't give in to temptation. Once I was as desperate as you to play the newest games. I know how it feels, you just have to be patient and not rush into this. When I finally got my new parts after waiting for a while, I was damn happy and it was worth the wait.

So if I were you, get a better power supply first, then the video card. If you try a 5770 on your current PSU, you might regret it. It's better to be safe than sorry.

like i said before the antec eco neo 380w is a more powerful psu than what you have (despite claiming less wattage). It has 16&17Amps on each 12v rail, compared to your codegens 10 &15Amps. 12V rail is the most important spec when looking at powering GFX cards. If you want to crossfire 2 5770's you really need to look at a high quality 500w+ unit from Antec, Seasonic, Corsair, Silverstone. If you go with something cheaper like chieftec, you will want 600w. The world of power supplies is very confusing, not all manufacturers rate their power supplies wattage by the same measure which is why you can get 400w units that wil outperform 750w units.
