[SOLVED] 5800x high idle temps

Hey guys! just picked up a 5800x and am running with a corsair h100i. Had some pretty weird idle temps so i put Arctic silver thermal paste on. With ryzen master, my idle temps are weird, still fluctuating around 50-60 some times 65+ degrees. I have no idea what temps are normal for a 5800x, what is everyone else getting?

----> just noticed when steam is downloading games, this chip boosts 30+ degrees from idle which is around 31, this is bizarre

Idle temps don't matter, AT ALL, unless your peak temperatures are out of spec.

And the way you determine if your peak temperatures are out of spec is by running an appropriate steady state thermal test, as outlined here:

So long as your temps are within spec at the upper range, then what it doing at idle doesn't matter much. If your peak temps are NOT within spec, THEN and only then does a high idle temp likely indicate a problem.
