His,
I am running a I7 5820k with a Noctua NH-D14 Cooler and an MSI x99S SLI Plus motherboard. I feel like my termperature readings are a bit high. In core-temp, I am usually between 41 and a masx of 56 at 20% on core 0. Does that sound unusually high?

I'm a bit confused by what you mean here "I am usually between 41 and a masx of 56 at 20% on core 0" is 56C your max at full load, or at 20% load? If it's not your max temp at full load, please post that. If it is your max temp at full load 56C is very good for air cooling.

If one core is signifcantly hotter than all the others and is not consistently under a higher load, you should go back and check your cooler installation and thermal paste application - might have missed part of it.

A little dot/line of thermal paste goes a LONG way - no need to apply it thick.

So...you are seeing 56C on core 0 when the system is at 20% (total) CPU usage?

What are you running when this happens? If it's one heavily single-threaded task that is maxing out Core 0 in the CPU graph, I would not be concerned about your temps. Your idle temps in that screenshot are certainly fine.
