i am picking the 6700k and GIGABYTE UD5 TH, for video editing and ocasional gaming...is it good? or should i increase budget and switch to the 5820k + A MOTHERBOARD SIMILAR TO THE UD5H (DONT WANT TO COMPROMISE ON MOTHERBOARD) ?

Solution

Sure its a slightly newer platform, and the 6700k is still a very good CPU, but an inferior choice for video editing performance, where the extra cores would help.

5820K is little better for the stuff other than gaming. The 6700k is good aswell, little better performance than 5820k in games.

I'd pick up a 6700k and overclock it personally

For 5820k motherboard, Something like an ASUS X99-A would be good

i like the motherboards in the 6700k range and the prices are better suited, is that a good reason lol?

im deciding to go with 6700k, solely because the motherboards are better for the price
