6 monitor eyefinity *all vga*

First of all, I realize that vga is not ideal for this, but I got 6 of the same monitors for dirt cheap and if possible would like to put them all in an eyefinity setup. I do not currently own a video card capable of doing so, and was looking for more advice before I purchased one. So yeah I have six 19" dell monitors that *only* have vga analog inputs. Please someone tell me its possible and what video card would be best for the job. Thanks.

Yes you can.... You'd need an eyefinity 6 card and 6 active display port to VGA adapters. I certainly wouldn't recommend it though.

The better question is why does he want eyefinity and if there is a better way to accomplish his goal

I guess this could work, but picture quality would suffer and it would add quite a bit of cost (that is why I wouldn't and didn't recommend it).

What I want to accomplish is to be able to play WoW and Counter Strike across the bottom 3 monitors (I have them in a 3x2 array) My current setup has 3 crappy video cards and 2 monitors on each card with extended desktop. Works great for browsing and all that nonsense with some 3rd party display software for the wallpaper and taskbar management. But I want to be able to span my games across the bottom 3. Still a no go?

I would definitely not game with this configuration (all the adapters to VGA displays). What are the specs for the system in question?

as far as video I am going to purchase one to make this work, if possible, but the current 3 cards i have in this machine are crap

Also I really don't mind if the picture quality isn't *perfect* as long as it works across all 3. All the reading and research i've done on this is pretty much leading me to one final solution: get rid of these 6 monitors and buy 3 good ones....

Yes, 3 solid, digital monitors would be better.

On your original question, Newegg has several active adapters that could work. One such as this one:

So, it WILL work, but *active* adapters are required. And it will just not be of great quality compared to using true digital connections?

Theoretically, yes, it will work. unskol is right about that (mentioned earlier in the thread). Just know that picture quality will be less than desirable.
