So I'm a trader/software engineer wanting to build a new computer to replace my almost six year old (!!!!) desktop. Needless to say, I'm not a hardware junkie. But my trading platform is really grinding down my system so it's time to replace it.

First question: I have 6 monitors different sizes so I guess eyefinitywould not be a good solution am I right?I was thinking on getting the gtx 970 but honestly I am having a hard time figuring out how I would get it to work.

Second question refers to card performance: I know everyone says if you aren't a gamer, you don't need a fast video card. And I'm not looking to spend hundreds on a single video card. But any day trader is going to have many windows and many, many charts open at once. I know the images are relatively static but they are still be updated constantly and I can't help but think that I want more than just any old cheap video card.

What do you guys think ?

A gaming card gives good 3d performance, you want to have good 2d performance, for which you don't need an expensive videocard. Mostly you will want a good quad core or more CPU to handle all different open windows (I presume but can't know for sure, it depends what software you are running). In any case, even an integrated Intel graphics will do for this.
Your only concern is to hook up 6 monitors to 1pc, for this you will need to look for videocards that have multiple outputs, also look out for your monitors input, if they are dvi-i or dvi-d:

Yes I go agree with this. All of my monitors use HDMI and DVI-D I was thinking on getting the gtx 970 because this computer will also be used for gaming after work. I will not be using all the monitors then anyway. The thing is I already have 1 gtx 970 and I am willing to get 2 more if they will allow me to hook up 10+ monitors. The processor I have bought is a i7 4790K and 8GB or Ram.
