60% and over RAM usage with nothing running

I have no idea where the RAM is being used I have checked in task manager and nothing amounts even close to it.


I have 8GB DRR3 and i am no unable to play games because of this.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I hope you haven't get the windows caching algorithms as false alarm. You can always check on your task manager which program consumes the most RAM, accessing the HDDs and using CPU. Here you can sort it by clicking on the heading (Memory),. The top program is the most RAM consuming program.

Also to speedup the PC Windows has established a cache algorithm that keeps the most used data on the RAMs to speed up things. This is not something permanent. When the RAM is required by other programs, this cache will be released to them,

even with that your still only looking at .2gig at most. more likely is an infection so try running malware bytes or some other well endorsed antimalware/antivirus.

I have ran AVG scan and a Malaware byte scan and nothing has came up.

As i said i have checked task manager and nothing amounts close to the usage it says.

I have re-installed windows and the problem has no gone thanks for the help 😀.
