[SOLVED] 60 hz with 1440p on 4k TV ?

I am using a 4k TV to game on while I am away from home, my PC can't handle games at 4k resolution so i want to turn down the resolution to 1440p. When I do that I can only run at 30 HZ. I have been trying to add a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel but its all blurry so how do I do it right?

Could be a limitation of the TV or the video card if it's older. Maybe the cable. Try another port on the TV and check the options to see if there is a setting for the ports for a "Computer" or something.

I think you need hdmi 1.2 or better on the graphics card to run at 1440P.
Looking at my 4k tv, I do not see a 1440P resolution option .
But, there are other resolutions possible like 2560 x 1600 or 2048 x 1536

Well I went into the settings on my tv and found a setting called HDMI UHD Color so i turned that on and that fixed my problem it looks like
