600-750 dollar build.

Solution

I would still go with the 1.5v ram and the lower profile heatsinks vice the 1.65v ram a tall heatsinks.

for a Case I would get this one, its on sale at newegg...
looks fine to me, but could do with a samsung spinpoint F3, much faster. and have you looked at z68? IMO GPU could be the GTX 560 or GTX 560ti, the ti is much better but is also much more, if i rememver correctly, the GTX 560 will give similar performance in gaming to a 6870 but will offer cuda for autoCAD (i think they support cuda), physxs is another thing that the 6870 doesn't have, it may not improve performance, but it makes your games look a bit nicer. all in all, if you can get a GTX 560 for the same price as a 6870 then get it (IMO) but better yet, if the 560ti is available to you then GET THAT (about $250)

Nothing is wrong. there is no difference in performance, the z68 is just a newer chipset. mATX is just the form factor. you loose a 2 or 3 expansion slots, but nobody uses a bunch of add on cards anymore. just showing you the sale at MC.

I also notice that you are using Ram with tall heat sinks. this will prevent you from using the first ram slot on the MB if you use the hyper 212+. the Ram you chose is also 1.65v and the Sandy Bridge chipsets seem to like 1.5v. this doesn't mead that the ram won't work, it just runs hotter and the over clocking ability may not be much, since is is already pushing the envelope at 1.65v.

the HDD is quality, but will be slow. if you can find it in your budget I would get a WD Black series of Samsung F3

I don't mind not using the first slot of my MB. Do I have to use the first slot? I am trying not to go over 700 dollars lol.

I was trying to find a case that has like mesh or some type of airflow in the front, a small glass window so I can look at the parts of my comp, or some type of opening on the side, and some openings on the top. I found some cases, but they either have no glass on the side, or no opening in the front. Do you think the case I found has enough airflow? I don't want any of my parts to burn up from overheating, especially with today's graphics cards.

for a Case I would get this one, its on sale at newegg $55 and free shipping until 7/24. is has 4 fans, fan controller, side window and is actually rated as a "quiet case" by Quietpc.com.

most cases have a good enough airflow that you components won't fry. for a gaming system a 120mm intake and 120mm exhaust fan is usually enough. having a side fan to feed the GPU fresh air is also a good thing.

not sure what kind of shipping deal you are getting with the CompUSA stuff, but I would check newegg to see if you can fine the same or similar with free shipping. and don't count on the Mail-in-Rebates, you are lucky if you get even 50% of them back. Go for a lower base price vs a higher price with a rebate.

Well , the only thing I am getting a rebate on is the GPU and the psu. Are you sure the mail-in rebate in TigersDirect doesn't work? I know newegg doesn't but what about other sites.

Also I plan to wait 4-6 months for parts to decrease because I just heard intel is making the ivy bridge processors and the sandy bridge ones will decrease. Also, I had a few friends telling me the parts I chose will be WAY cheaper in 6 months.

However, the case is a REALLY great deal and IDK if I will find deals like that in 6 months. Should I buy the case now or wait on it?

that hard drive will be slow as it is 5400rpm

do you need a computer now, then buy one, if you can wait then wait. even when bulldozer and ivy bridge do come out it will be a while before prices drop that much. I would get the case while its on sale at least.

rebates are a crap shoot.

I got my gigabyte 6870 after rebates for 139.99 last week wed after black friday. Quite a bit cheaper then any the 560 ive seen and 100 bucks cheaper then the ti. I hear dueling this in 6870 (maybe in the near future) works extremly well. Just a thought 😉

oh it was on tiger direct where i got it.
